NV Energy industrial cooling ponds managed as a public warmwater fishery and birding stop just east of U.S. 95A near Wabuska. Thermally influenced water (when the plant runs) concentrates bass, catfish, and waterbirds; shore access only, with an outhouse at the parking area. Distinct from Fort Churchill State Historic Park’s fort ruins and from Mason Valley WMA’s managed wetlands.
