Anaconda company town built for the Yerington open-pit copper mine (1952–1978). The town still overlooks the flooded, turquoise-tinted pit; a public viewpoint with interpretive signs sits on the west rim by Weed Heights while the Superfund-listed mine proper remains fenced.
