Railroad hamlet on the Carson & Colorado (later SP) that boomed as a Mason Valley shipping and junction point after 1881, then again with the Nevada Copper Belt Railroad (1911) serving Yerington-area copper mines. A few historic commercial shells and the townsite grid remain along US-95A north of Yerington; the old depot was moved to the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City.
