Fish Creek Canyon is one of the deep permitted canyons of Cedar Mesa in Bears Ears National Monument, commonly combined with Owl Creek Canyon as a multi-day loop. The canyons hold Ancestral Puebloan architecture and rock imagery under BLM management. Access is from a trailhead about a mile south of Kane Gulch Ranger Station on SR 261; day-use and overnight permits are required.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
