Year-round Nevada State Parks unit on the shore of Wild Horse Reservoir in the high cold desert north of Elko. Popular for rainbow and brown trout, smallmouth bass, ice fishing, boating, and spring wildflowers; wildlife includes pronghorn, mule deer, elk, waterfowl, and upland birds. Campground, cabins, boat ramp, and day-use beach serve as a base for the surrounding Owyhee / Independence Mountains country.
