Sand to Snow National Monument covers about 154,000 acres from the Sonoran Desert near Palm Springs to the alpine crest of San Gorgonio Mountain. BLM and the San Bernardino National Forest co-manage it. Long stretches of the Pacific Crest Trail cross the monument. Whitewater Canyon Preserve is the primary desert-side trailhead; Forest Falls and Vivian Creek reach the high country.
