Palisade Glacier is the largest glacier in the Sierra Nevada, tucked under North Palisade and neighboring 14,000-foot peaks above Big Pine Lakes. Hikers reach views and the glacier's moraines via the North Fork of Big Pine Creek and the Glacier Trail past Sam Mack Meadow in Inyo National Forest and John Muir Wilderness.
