Granite spires and canyons of the Organ range east of Las Cruces fall inside Organ Mountains Wilderness, within Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monument. Elevations run from about 4,600 feet to over 9,000 feet on sharp ridges that give the range its name. Baylor Pass National Recreation Trail crosses the wilderness between Baylor Canyon Road and Aguirre Spring and is the main maintained through-hike.
