West-side trailhead for the Baylor Pass National Recreation Trail in Organ Mountains–Desert Peaks National Monument / Organ Mountains Wilderness. The six-mile through-hike climbs the west face of the Organs toward Aguirre Spring, crossing Chihuahuan Desert scrub into mixed oak and pine with mule deer, javelina, desert bighorn potential, and strong mountain birding. Free BLM day-use parking on Baylor Canyon Road; no water on trail.
