Inside Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, Nampaweap is one of the largest publicly interpreted petroglyph concentrations on the Arizona Strip. A short out-and-back trail from a developed trailhead follows a basalt ravine where pecked geometric designs, handprints, anthropomorphs, and zoomorphs cover fractured lava cliffs. The site is jointly managed by BLM and NPS, with parking, a vault toilet, and a kiosk. Camping is not allowed on the trail.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
