Horse Valley Ranch, also called Waring Ranch, sits on a remote bench in Grand Canyon–Parashant National Monument. J. D. “Slim” Waring established the outfit around 1916; the listed core includes ranch buildings, corrals, fence lines, water tanks, and holding ponds on public land. The National Park Service acquired the property in the late 1960s. It remains a BLM-managed interpretive historic site reached by long dirt roads on the Arizona Strip.
