Nevada State Parks unit surrounding Lahontan Reservoir on the Carson River, with roughly 69 miles of shoreline, cottonwood and willow pockets, boat launches, beach camping, and strong wildlife viewing including migratory waterfowl and nesting bald eagles. Built as part of the Newlands Reclamation Project (first water deliveries 1905).
