Historic Colorado River ferry and supply settlement at the mouth of White Canyon, later inundated as Lake Powell rose. Cass Hite’s river landing and the mid-century Hite Marina era mark a major Glen Canyon travel node. The modern Hite Crossing / residual marina approaches keep the name on the map; the pin is the historical ferry–town place, not a swimming beach.
