Head of the Rocks Overlook sits on Utah Highway 12 about ten miles east of Escalante. A paved parking area and accessible walkway look out over the Escalante Canyons country, where colored slickrock rolls for miles toward the Henry Mountains and other distant ranges. In 2012 BLM improved the wayside with ramps, an accessible parking space, and three angled interpretive panels built into the wall. It is a standard stop on the All-American Road Scenic Byway 12 between Escalante and Boulder.
