Socorro County, NM
Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.
El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro follows the trade and colonial road that linked Mexico City to Santa Fe. In New Mexico the trail corridor includes BLM and NPS interpretive sites, waysides, and short walks where the road trace or paraje history is explained. The Socorro-area segment is one of several public access points along a multi-state route.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
