Socorro Nature Area is a small BLM day-use site east of I-25 near Lemitar with about 1.5 miles of dirt-and-gravel loop trails through Rio Grande valley vegetation. Benches and a compacted path serve short walks and wildlife viewing. Access is from Exit 156 via State Road 408 and a short county dirt road.
