1860s gold camp in the Pine Nut Mountains southeast of Dayton—briefly a booming Palmyra Mining District town with hotels, mills, a newspaper (the Como Sentinel), and Sagebrush School writer Alfred Doten among its residents. Today the high-country townsite is abandoned; foundations, mill remnants, and scattered diggings remain on public-land approaches above Dayton.
