East-draining Comstock freight and mill canyon from Virginia City toward the Carson River plains—site of early placer work, the Flowery District, and 1860s–70s ore mills (Gould & Curry and others). A public winding mountain road (Six Mile Canyon Road) still links Virginia City to the Mark Twain / valley floor, with mill ruins, tailings benches, and historic industrial landscape in the National Historic Landmark district fringe.
