Long-lived silver camp in the Lewis District south of Battle Mountain. After 1880s disasters, a major 1920s revival under Noble Getchell built a large flotation mill (to 250 tpd) and a small company camp with post office and newspaper. Mill ruins still stand above the valley (notable lean reported ~2021)—one of northern Lander’s most photogenic industrial skeletons.
