The 15,400-acre Aubrey Peak Wilderness in Mohave County sits in a Mojave–Sonoran transition 70 miles south of Kingman. Cliff-ringed Aubrey Peak and neighboring mesas of brightly colored rhyolite, tuff, and basalt hold natural windows, tufa caves, spires, and tinajas. Cross-country hiking follows sand washes; there are no constructed trails. Stands of saguaro mix with Joshua tree.
