Rawhide Mountains Wilderness lies north of the Bill Williams River in La Paz County. The river gorge downstream from Alamo Dam is a primary hiking destination reached from Alamo Lake State Park and the dam overlook; the lower gorge may close in late winter and spring for nesting bald eagles. High desert mountains and desert scrub fill the rest of the unit.
