Historic mining settlement name in the Jarilla Mountains of southern Otero County, gazetted as a populated place and tied to the long turquoise- and precious-metal mining history of the Orogrande / Jarilla district. Field interest is the desert mountain mining-camp landscape and early twentieth-century boom-and-bust context—visited from public approaches without entering mine workings.
