Starr Springs Campground sits at about 6,300 feet on the southern edge of Utah’s Henry Mountains, with Mount Hillers rising to 10,723 feet above the sites. Twelve individual sites and one group site occupy pinyon-juniper and mid-elevation benches reached by a five-mile dirt spur off Highway 276. The surrounding public lands are summer and year-round range for the free-roaming Henry Mountains bison herd, established in 1941 with animals from Yellowstone and managed jointly by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the BLM. Reliable water is scarce; bring your own.
