Punta Gorda Light Station stands on the remote Humboldt coast inside the King Range National Conservation Area. The tower was completed and first lit in 1912 and deactivated in 1951; the station later transferred to the Bureau of Land Management. Hikers reach the restored light and ruins by a roughly three-mile beach walk south from Mattole Campground along the northern Lost Coast Trail.
