Yolla Bolly-Middle Eel Wilderness spans roughly 180,000 acres of the southern Klamath and Inner Coast Ranges in northern California. The name combines Wintun words for snow-covered high peaks with the Middle Fork Eel River headwaters. Mendocino, Shasta-Trinity, and Six Rivers National Forests share management with a BLM fringe. Trails are remote and often brushy.
