Piper Mountain Wilderness covers tens of thousands of acres where the Piper, Sylvania, and Inyo mountain systems meet northeast of Big Pine in Inyo County. Ground runs from alluvial fans and washes to high desert ridges; no entry permit is required. Access is from State Highway 168 and the Big Pine–Death Valley road system. Recreation is cross-country hiking and dispersed camping.
