1880s lumber camp and sawmill that fed Bodie’s mines via the narrow-gauge Bodie & Benton Railway. At peak nearly 45,000 cords of wood per year left the Jeffrey-pine forest SE of Mono Lake. The townsite has nearly vanished; ruins and interpretive context sit along CA-120 east of US-395.
