Italianate county courthouse on Main Street in Bridgeport, completed in 1880 and still one of California’s oldest continuously operating county courthouses. Built quickly to lock in Bridgeport as county seat over rival Bodie, the Greek-cross plan building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and anchors the high-desert county seat on US-395 between the Eastern Sierra and the Nevada border.
