Kyburz Flat on Tahoe National Forest has a short boardwalk and signed stops covering Washoe-associated cupule petroglyphs, a Henness Pass emigrant waystation, and early twentieth-century sheep-camp remains. The Forest Service manages and interprets the site for public visits off SR 89 near Sierraville.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
