A major desert mountain block roughly fifteen miles northeast of Baker, California, Kingston Range Wilderness lies mostly in San Bernardino County with a tip into Inyo County. Elevations rise from desert valleys into the Kingston Range, supporting bighorn sheep and typical eastern Mojave plant communities. Routes off I-15 and Highway 127 reach the edge; the wilderness interior is closed to motor vehicles.
