Kendrick Mountain Wilderness covers volcanic slopes of the San Francisco Volcanic Field northwest of Flagstaff. Three maintained trails totaling about 14 miles climb to the 10,418-foot summit, where a fire lookout stands above ponderosa and mixed-conifer forest. There is no reliable water on the mountain. Summer storms and winter snow close high elevations seasonally.
