Classic public rockhounding ground in the Wiley Well District of the Chuckwalla Valley, long known for geodes, nodules, and agate in volcanic host rock. BLM land allows recreational collecting with hand tools; the beds lie south of I-10 via Wiley's Well Road among a network of rough desert tracks. Surface float is picked over—most specimens require careful digging in established dig areas.
