Ghost Town

Eagle City

Garfield County, UT

Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.

Remote gold-camp ghost town in Bromide Basin on the western Henry Mountains. Settled around 1890 to serve the Bromide and Oro mines along Crescent Creek; briefly supported a store, hotel, doctor, and saloon (and Wild Bunch visitors in lore). Flooded deep workings and a 1911 mill fire ended the boom; a lone resident lingered into the 1970s. Field remains are sparse surface cabin/debris along the Bromide Basin road — public BLM mountain country, surface visit only.
