Utah’s best-known public geode locality on BLM land west of the Pony Express Trail: Miocene rhyolite cavities reworked by Lake Bonneville into soft lake-bed digs. Casual collectors dig quartz-, amethyst-, and rose-lined geodes from two main BLM pits and nearby flats; no permit required for personal-use limits.
