Gold-mining district center in far northeastern Elko County, about thirty-six miles north of Montello near the Idaho line. Production ran intermittently from the 1870s into the mid-twentieth century. The camp is abandoned, with district roads and thin ruins in a remote basin-and-range setting that needs 4WD and full self-support.
