Grassland basin ringed by the colorful sandstone spires of Canyonlands’ Needles District. Reached by the classic Chesler Park / Joint Trail network (viewpoint ~6 mi RT; full loop ~11 mi), it is one of the defining day-hike destinations in the Needles for desert scenery without technical canyoneering.
