Carrizo Plain National Monument (Goodwin Education Center)
San Luis Obispo County, CA
Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.
BLM visitor hub for California’s vast inland grassland national monument—the Carrizo Plain, often called the state’s Serengeti—rimmed by the Temblor and Caliente ranges along the San Andreas Fault. The Guy L. Goodwin Education Center (seasonal) offers maps, exhibits on endangered San Joaquin species, restrooms, and orientation for Soda Lake, Wallace Creek, and ranch-road wildlife drives. Pin is the public visitor center, not Soda Lake Overlook or Wallace Creek already kept nearby.
