Kern County, CA

Coordinate verified

CDFW ecological reserve on the South Fork Kern River corridor east of Lake Isabella, protecting cottonwood-willow riparian forest, blue oak woodland, sagebrush, and Joshua tree edges across Bloomfield Ranch, Canebrake Creek, Cap Canyon, and Scodie Ranch units (~7,200 acres). A signed dirt parking lot on the north side of CA-178 leads to a short nature trail (partially accessible) for birding and wildlife viewing in a classic Kern River Valley riparian stronghold.
