Burney Falls

Shasta County, CA

Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.

Burney Falls drops about 129 feet on Burney Creek inside McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park in Shasta County. Springs discharge from the basalt face beside the main plunge, so the falls run strongly even in dry months. The park is one of California’s oldest state parks and lies about six miles north of Highway 299 on Highway 89 near the town of Burney. Day-use parking, short viewing trails, and camping are developed around the falls.
