Little Mt. Hoffman Lookout is a 14-by-14-foot fire lookout cabin on a cinder cone at about 7,300 feet above the Medicine Lake highland east of Mount Shasta. Restored for overnight rental, it has a wraparound deck and views across the lava country. Long forest roads from Highway 89 reach it; the McCloud Ranger District issues the lock combination to reserved guests.
