Aurora Crater

Pleistocene basaltic crater in the Aurora–Bodie volcanic field, the late-stage vent that capped a long Miocene-to-Pleistocene eruptive history around the Aurora mining district. Dark flows and the crater rim sit on public land a few miles from the Aurora townsite, offering a clear volcanic landform without entering active mine works.
