Four tent-only sites sit at the base of the Ajo Mountains in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. A graded dirt road leaves State Route 85 at milepost 65.5 and ends at the canyon mouth. From there the short Alamo Canyon Trail continues into a historic ranching canyon of organ pipe and saguaro.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
