Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.
North of Wellington in Carbon and Duchesne counties runs a roughly 46-mile drainage long used by Fremont, Ute, and later freighters. BLM has developed public access to selected rock-art panels, a picnic area at Cottonwood Glen, and trailheads such as Daddy Canyon. The canyon road is a known scenic and archaeological driving route, with private inholdings that must be respected.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
