Failed dry-farming town in Johns Valley, Garfield County northeast of Bryce, occupied roughly 1908–1936 under successive names Adairville, Houston, and Winder before John A. Widtsoe’s namesake. Peak population was claimed near 1,100 until drought collapsed farming; the Resettlement Administration bought out remaining families and dismantled most buildings. A few houses and a community structure still stand on the high plateau.
