Wabayuma Peak Wilderness protects roughly 40,000 acres in the Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman. The 7,601-foot summit dominates ridges that drop nearly 5,000 feet to the desert floor and span Sonoran and Mojave vegetation into chaparral and ponderosa at higher elevations. A roughly 2.5-mile trail follows an old jeep road toward the peak. High-clearance four-wheel drive is strongly recommended on access roads such as Boriana Canyon.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
