This BLM Back Country Byway follows one of the better-preserved paved stretches of Historic Route 66 between Kingman and Topock, including switchbacks through the Black Mountains and the mining town of Oatman. Visitor kiosks and a BLM map mark the drive as a historic highway and desert-mountain route.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
