Western Pacific construction camp turned railroad hamlet on Tobar Flat, Elko County, established in 1908 (also known as Clover City), with a post office 1911–1921. Folk etymology links the name to a “To Bar” sign. The extinct town left scant desert remains east of Wells; a 1969 munitions train fire is closed history—do not dig, and stay off active rail property.
