Sid’s Cabin is a 1920s-era homestead in a meadow inside the Sids Mountain Wilderness of the northern San Rafael Swell. There is no driving access; reaching it is a long day hike or backpack of roughly a dozen miles round trip, depending on route. The surrounding wilderness holds bighorn sheep habitat and the maze of canyons and mesas typical of the western Swell.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
