Stabilized 1860 Pony Express / Overland Stage station ruins on the approach to Sand Mountain Recreation Area. Buried by dunes and rediscovered in 1976, the multi-phase stone station is a Pony Express National Historic Trail Vanishing Treasure and one of the best-preserved relay stations in Nevada, with a short interpretive walk from a signed dirt parking spur off the Sand Mountain entrance road.
