Deep basalt canyon cut by the Owens River between Crowley Lake and Pleasant Valley Reservoir north of Bishop. Vertical jointed basalt walls expose Bishop Tuff–related and later volcanic flows; a classic Eastern Sierra geology stop and major sport-climbing venue. Public access via Gorge Road off US-395 with multiple rim parking areas and scramble descents to the river. Distinct from Volcanic Tableland / Chalk Bluff (Bishop Tuff plateau) and from Hot Creek Geologic Site.
